    B. r/antiwork. 1 day ago gliixo369 Just quit a dangerous job with no notice and reported them to OSHA I was working at an unprofessional CNC shop. Zero safety procedures. Using multiple forklifts to load giant machines onto trucks, no lock out tag out, etc.

This morning my "supervisor" had the audacity to pull me aside and ask why some days I leave early and why I'm on my phone sometimes. I was flabbergasted. I quit on the spot and immediately reported them to OSHA. When you literally break the law every

Froyn 1d ago The right decision eventually... The right decision was to file reports as soon as the practices were noticed. Had they been killed by the unsafe practice prior to quitting, they would not have reported it. Had a co-worker been killed, they would have been complicit in the environment which caused the death.

gliixo369 OP 23h ago Edited 23h ago You are 100% correct and I've been kicking myself about this. I should have quit right away. I just kind of need money right now but my health and safety is always more important than money. This is why I called in to make the report to OSHA, I'm envisioning them putting some kid in there to replace me and him getting killed. Makes me sick to my stomach. Trust me I realize my mistake and will never do that again. Hopefully this never happens again though I was

I know nothing about forklifts and even I find that concerning. © ปี 29 29 Reply ↑ Share gliixo369 OP. 23h ago Yeah you're supposed to never exceed the load limit of one, let alone two or three at once. The owner could easily rent the correct size lift for the job but noooooo0

ejrhonda79 23h ago I would also suggest, if you can, enlist current and former co-workers in filing OSHA complaints. They may not take one report seriously but if they get multiple reports then that might get the ball rolling much faster. There is always power in numbers.

nimbleWhimble 21h ago . The worst part is OSHA has very little they can do once you are gone. Went through this with an employer not installing a ventilation system properly with a very toxic washout system. OSHA made it very clear many of the things they would have authority to do were limited by my having quit. Yes, entirely messed up. The company was dumping other toxins for years in the backyard and they got popped for that and the clean up. They could have lost their entire company if OSHA

DeathByFartz1996 I've complained about safety concerns to past and my present employer. It's amazing how nobody takes action unless it helps/hurts managements ego. Also telling me I'm "being offensive" by bringing attention to the problem is lunacy. Reply ↑ Share ↑ 4 4 ↓ . 19h ago Apprehensive_Hat8986 19h ago . drizzitdude • 15h ago My friend worked for a hazardous waste disposal company, one of the machines was broken in the back and leaking sludge. He said it has been broken for 6+ years and every years they get fined for it but the price of the fine is cheaper than replacing the machine so why bother
